Welcome to Merseyside Child Care Centre

Hello, my name is Sandra Ortiz. I am the owner/operator of Merseyside Early Learning Centre. I believe in a nature-based approach to nurture your child's learning, independence, communication and creativity. I have a degree in Education from Normal Juan Ladrilleros College in Colombia, Re-educational Pedagogy from the University of Quindío in Armenia, Colombia, and a diploma in Early Childhood Education, Infant/Toddler, and Special Needs from Vancouver Community College in Canada. I also have a certificate as a Behaviour Interventionist from Autism BC in Canada and am currently studying at the Justice Institute for Community Care Licensing Officer.

I have worked in education for many years in Colombia, San José de Costa Rica, the United States, and Canada. Caring for and teaching children has been my passion since childhood. I feel happy to have the opportunity to work with children and families.

Helping communities and vulnerable populations is my passion.

I’m a multicultural person who connects with people from all over the world. I like

diversity, and I enjoy sharing my culture and learning about other cultures and

traditions. I’m here to provide a healthy, fresh, and friendly environment where children can play and learn.
